Reasons I love our wedding photographer Eliza Claire:
1. She has manged to produce a set of photographs of myself that don’t make me recoil in horror. As I gazed at these images on my computer screen this morning I couldn’t help but think that I look, well… quite pretty. I never feel that way about photos, especially not ones where you can see my profile {it’s shall we say, a little distinctive, no?} or all of my teeth {it sure ain’t no Hollywood smile} or my fringe is misbehaving {curse my wayward hair}. But these, I love.
2. She actually got a picture of Mr. LA smiling. I mean a proper grin, where he looks genuinely happy. I have about 3 photos of him with a similar facial expression, and two of them are of him holding our babies moments after they were born {when you can’t really do anything BUT smile}. It really is a rare occurrence. Thing is, when he does manage to shrug of his brooding ‘I’m too cool to smile in your picture’ facade, he looks pretty damn hot, and Eliza has captured that perfectly.
3. The shoot {and post-shoot drinkys} were loads of fun. I felt terribly anxious in the run up to having our pictures taken, partly because I felt a little self-conscious about my face/skin/teeth/body and partly because meeting someone in real life, who you’ve only ever interacted with online, is pretty nerve wracking in its own right! But after a few minutes with Eliza, I knew our afternoon spent wandering around London’s South Bank was going to be fabulous. She helped us both relax and even the Mr, who is really not a fan of having his photograph taken, enjoyed the experience.
4. She’s going to take beautiful photographs of of our wedding day. That much is obvious, right?
A few details about my ensemble….
My LBD is from Oasis. I love it because it makes me feel {even more} like Audrey. My red shoes are from Next. They look pretty but they were crippling to walk in all day. I slipped into flats at the first available opportunity. My much loved, and well worn, coat is from Topshop over 2 years ago. I got my hair did at Hershesons in Topshop Oxford Circus {it’s the ‘bardot’) and my makeup consisted of Estee Lauder DoubleWear foundation and concealer, Chanel loose powder, NARS Sin blush, Chanel eyeshadow quad in Kaska Beige, Clinique gel liner, Max factor Masterpiece Max mascara and a faint smudge of Chanel Rouge Allure lippy in ‘Lover’. My nail polish is ‘Revlon Red’ and it’s the colour of a Louboutin sole!

you two are gorgeous!!
Really beautiful pictures and this makes me want to rush to Hersheson’s to get that hair-do. So lovely!
I’d love a pre wedding shoot, however need to decide the date and the photographer first! Luckily we have some budding photographer friends, so perhaps we may be lucky and get a few…
These photos are stunning, the last with the dome in the background is my absolute fav!
Gorgeous – the dress, the hair, the red shoes and polish, you….and Mr LA doesn’t do too badly in these photos either!
I too have a ‘distinctive’ profile, but a good tog like I had and like you most definately have will capture it in the most gorgeous way possible….I wanted to ban all side on shots but thankfully he took some anyway and they are among my favourites!
I can’t wait to see your wedding pics now!!

@Laura Thanks, we’re thrilled with them. The girl that did my hair made it look so easy! I wish I could recreate this kind of thing myself, it felt so glam.
@Belle du Brighton The pic with St. Pauls is my favourite too, looks like something out of a movie!
