My best friends got married. I turned 30. A killer frock was needed. Obviously.

Collette Dinnigan Dress

Check out the hilarious accidental stupid face. Showing those uber cool fashion bloggers how it’s done y’all! See also, my bruised knee. Pure class my friends, pure class.

Good job the dress is pretty, hey? Purchased from Collette Dinnigan’s diffusion line via Net-A-Porter, it was quite the indulgence, but worth every penny. Even as a sale purchase, and therefore significantly cheaper than it could have been, I still needed to keep the cost of my accessories to an absolute minimum. The shoes are an old wardrobe staple from Aldo {similar here} and I picked up the bag a while ago from the children’s department in Primark for £1! It used to have a rather ugly strap, but I removed it to transform the bag into a clutch.

After all that thriftiness, I needed something special to complete the outfit, so I enlisted the help of Lila. Sofia used a photo of my bag to design this stunning bespoke headpiece to match…

Lila Designs Coral Floral Headpiece

I came across Sofia’s work through my job at Love My Dress. She is a true artist, handcrafting her incredibly unique work from clay. In a heavily saturated market, her pieces really stand out, so if you’re looking for something special to wear on your wedding day, or for another important occasion, I can’t recommend her highly enough. I received countless compliments for the headpiece throughout the day and I felt truly beautiful wearing it. Take a look at this feature written by Annabel for more information and images of Sofia’s work.

I also accessorised with a rather handsome chap in a suit. Not going to lie, I fancy the pants off him 😉
