- Waking up to find Jesse and his teddy in my bed.
- Dozing peacefully.
- Dragging myself downstairs for tea and more snuggles on the sofa.
- Still trying to get used to Izzy’s dramatic new haircut.
- Making the children breakfast and missing Mr. LA.
- Stealing ten minutes alone in the shower while the children watched a film.
- Pulling on a pretty dress and thick black tights.
- Carefully applying my makeup.
- Chatting to my Mum on the phone.
- Desperately trying to persuade Jesse to get dressed.
- Laughing as I overheard Izzy threatening to send her brother ‘to Coventry’ if he didn’t behave. That’ll be the Enid Blyton.
- Reporting an abandoned car to the local police and feeling like a community superhero.
- Wrapping up warm and heading to the bus stop.
- Very much enjoying the winter sunshine.
- Loving the sight of the children holding hands on the bus.
- Buying Mr. LA a birthday present.
- Browsing the shops and wishing I could afford some new clothes.
- Grabbing a table at Tampopo.
- Watching the children’s faces light up when their Daddy joined us for lunch.
- Eating Nasi Goreng and sipping diet coke.
- Slowly making our way home.
- Feeling sleepy.
- Cooking and eating Dalston Sweet Potato Curry.
- Reading Jesse a story and tucking him into bed.
- Pouring myself a glass of wine.
- Leaving Izzy and Mr. LA to watch Lord of the Rings while I did some writing.
- Feeling nostalgic.
- Retreating to bed.
- Reading the first few chapters of Miss Pettigrew Lives for a Day. So far, so brilliant.
- Slowly drifting off.
- Sleeping in.
- Feeling inexplicably grumpy.
- Watching Izzy practice blowing bubbles.
- Luxuriating in the shower.
- Opting to stay in my PJs all day.
- Listening to the children play upstairs.
- Eating soup for lunch.
- Feeling very smug when I managed to convince Jesse to eat his lunch. My secret? I served his soup in a mug.
- Seeing Izzy off to her drama class.
- Frying aubergine and pepper in a little salt and cumin ready to be added to our evening meal.
- Baking two lemon sponges and sandwiching them together with homemade lemon curd and mascarpone.
- Letting Jesse lick the bowl. And the spoon. And the Kitchenaid.
- Drinking tea.
- Doing laundry.
- Leaving a huge pot of beans and vegetables to bubble away very slowly on the stove.
- Squeezing in a little writing while Jesse played happily with his Lego.
- Slicing avocado, grating cheese and warming tortillas ready for supper.
- Stirring some spinach through the warm beans.
- Sitting down to eat.
- Bathing the children.
- Reading Miffy aloud.
- Craving a lazy evening on the sofa with my husband.
