I’ve developed a minor obsession with vintage string shelving. When I say minor, I mean I will not rest until I have some on my wall. I’ve set up all the relevant alerts on eBay and I’ll be scouring junk shops and the like until I get lucky.
In the meantime, I’m also considering a couple of contemporary options. The EKBY JÄRPEN from Ikea is often described as a ‘poor man’s string shelving’ and Meg of Lips So Facto fame alerted me to the fact that Haus is currently offering 15% off the String Pocket Shelf by Nils Strinning. 
Whether I end up with something old or new, I cannot wait to fill those beautiful shelves with interesting objects and art. This probably makes me a complete Pinterest victim/internet cliche, but I couldn’t care less!

I had no idea that those shelves were called string shelves! I love the shelves on the top left–so colourful! I recognise the Pyrex patterned bowls on the middle shelf–my Mum had those 🙂
