I think the Eiffel Tower deserves it’s very own post, don’t you? I mean, it’s just so, so… breathtaking…
The sun finally made an appearance just as we emerged from Invalides station. You can ride the Metro closer to the famous landmark, but we enjoyed the short walk beneath the bright blue sky. We never intended to climb to the top, mainly because of the time we’d lose waiting in line, but wandering beneath the vast edifice felt just as satisfying.
I needed to rest my foot so we parked ourselves on a bench and enjoyed the incredible view for a while before walking across the river towards the Jardins du Trocadero. We stocked up on bottled water so I could swallow some more painkillers and Carl ate a chocolate doughnut in the sunshine.
Naturally, we spent a good twenty minutes trying to get the perfect Paris selfie with the Tower in the background… Nailed it.

Wonderful!
You know, all the times I have been in Paris, I’ve never visited the famous landmarks at a polite hour. I feel like I ought to now!
How lovely. You can’t beat Paris in the Spring! 🙂
