- Luxuriating in bed. Mr L.A. let me sleep in until well after 9am. Such a treat!
- Heading downstairs for a cup of tea.
- Cuddling the kids.
- Hunkering down beneath a blanket on the sofa.
- Eating scrambled eggs on toast.
- Stealing a couple of hours to write.
- Listening to the rain fall outside.
- Sorting laundry.
- Sitting down to lunch.
- Cracking on with a spot of DIY in the master bedroom.
- Jumping in the shower.
- Working my way through a seemingly endless list of chores.
- Baking Chocolate Shortbread with the children.
- Cooking and eating Mixed Bean Goulash.
- Reading Jesse a bedtime story and tucking him in for the night.
- Watching The Great British Bake Off Masterclass on iPlayer with Izzy. I do so love Mary Berry.
- Sending her up to bed.
- Sipping red wine.
- Soldiering on with Wayward Pines even thought it feels a lot like a poor man’s Twin Peaks.
- Collapsing into bed.
- Waking up as Jesse clambered in beside me.
- Wishing he would sleep a little longer.
- Giving up and heading downstairs.
- Letting Mr L.A. sleep in.
- Catching up on blog reading while Jesse watched cartoons.
- Drinking countless cups of tea.
- Speed cleaning the bathroom and putting another load of washing on.
- Eating fried egg sandwiches for breakfast.
- Grabbing a quick shower.
- Pulling on jeans and a Breton top.
- Coaxing the children into their clothes.
- Strolling to the park in the sunshine.
- Relishing the colours of the trees and the bright blue, cloudless sky above.
- Taking a different route to the playground.
- Watching the children take turns on the slide.
- Stopping to take a million photos of them frolicking in fallen leaves.
- Slowly making our way home.
- Making fish finger sandwiches for lunch.
- Packing Izzy off to her drama class.
- Sanding what felt like miles and miles of skirting board in our bedroom.
- Chatting to my mother-in-law on the phone.
- Watching Jesse play with his Lego.
- Slowly preparing the Leek Pasta Bake from Simply Nigella. It was absolutely delicious.
- Snuggling with Jesse on the sofa.
- Tidying up and laying the table.
- Waiting for the others to arrive.
- Eating too much.
- Putting Jesse to bed.
- Feeling incredibly sleepy.
- Longing for a mug of hot chocolate and an early night.

I have the new nigella book but have only made the chocolate cake (it was a hit) and the halloumi with sweet chilli sauce, although I was out of runny honey so used date syrup, it was good too.
I can’t wait to make the halloumi! Totally agree about lie ins, they feel like a real treat once you’ve had children! xxx
