- Dozing in bed with Jesse until the sun came up.
- Creeping downstairs for a cup of tea.
- Snuggling beneath a blanket on the sofa.
- Waiting for Izzy to emerge. She’s definitely mastered the art of sleeping in at weekends. We just need Jess to follow suit!

- Popping to a few shops.
- Buying myself a copy of Jane Eyre to re-read.
- Helping Izzy spend some of her Christmas money in Claire’s Accessories. The choker pictured above could be considered her first self-funded fashion statement. Hands up if you wore something similar as a teen, I know I did!
- Walking to the MShed.
- Trailing after the children as they raced from one exhibit to the next.
- Running through the rain and dodging puddles in Queen Square as we made our way to Spicer and Cole for some much-needed sustenance.
- Treating the children to hot chocolate and a piece of cake before making our way home.
- Baking potatoes and re-heating Bean Goulash for dinner.
- Plunging the children into the bath.
- Reading stories and giving goodnight kisses.
- Sipping a large glass of Baileys and watching Mr. Selfridge on Netflix.
- Collapsing into bed with my book, Lolly Willowes by Sylvia Townsend Warner.
- Waking up as Jesse clambered in beside me at 5.30am.
- Desperately needing more sleep.
- Giving up and heading downstairs.
- Drinking endless cups of tea in an attempt to feel human.
- Deciding waffles would help.
- Pottering around the house in a daze.
- Lingering in the shower for as long as possible.
- Finally feeling ready to face the day.
- Grabbing lunch and dashing out the door to take Izzy to her drama class in Clifton.
- Soaking up the sight of all the coloured houses as the sun began to set.
- Killing time with Jesse in River Cottage Canteen.
- Deciding to head back for Sunday lunch at some point in the future.
- Collecting Izzy and catching the bus home.
- Feeling relieved to be home and with my husband again.
- Eating his veggie chilli and feeling very sleepy.
- Letting him put the kids to bed while I changed into my jimjams.
- Drinking hot chocolate and watching Modern Family.
- Retreating upstairs for an early night.
