- Waking up as the Ocado van pulled up outside.
- Wondering why I had booked our delivery for before 7am on a Saturday morning.
- Dragging myself downstairs.
- Making tea while Mr L.A. brought the shopping bags into the kitchen.
- Slowly filling the fridge with fresh produce.
- Re-stocking the cupboards with tins of beans and packets of rice and pasta.
- Lounging on the sofa while Mr L.A. made breakfast.
- Tucking into scrambled eggs on buttery toast.
- Luxuriating in the shower.
- Pulling on skinny jeans and my favourite slouchy sweater.
- Admiring my new boots {c/o Jones Bootmaker}. I can’t wait to break them in properly tomorrow.
- Preparing for Izzy’s early birthday sleepover. She’ll be 11 next Sunday.
- Baking a Chocolate Malteser Cake.
- Seeing the boys off on a bike ride.
- Tucking into veggie hot dogs for lunch.
- Making up the beds in Izzy’s room.
- Relaxing in front of the TV while we waited for her guests to arrive.
- Watching the girls disappear upstairs in a flurry of laughter and excitement.
- Watching Thundercats with Jesse on the sofa.
- Ordering pizzas.
- Dishing up Ben & Jerry’s for dessert.
- Singing Happy Birthday and demolishing a slice of cake.
- Painting three sets of nails with very sparkly polish.
- Laying out popcorn and sweets.
- Sitting with the girls while they watched Labyrinth.
- Chuckling when Izzy admitted she thought Bowie was hot.
- Packing Izzy and her friends off to bed.
- Enjoying the sound of them talking and laughing.
- Sipping gin and tonic.
- Binge watching Making a Murderer on Netflix.
- Realising that the girls must have finally nodded off.
- Collapsing into bed.
- Waking up a little after 7am.
- Listening to the children chatter in Izzy’s bedroom next door.
- Waiting for Jesse to surface.
- Heading downstairs.
- Making mugs of hot chocolate for all the children.
- Sipping tea as I prepared waffles for breakfast.
- Persuading the girls to get dressed.
- Comforting Izzy as she said goodbye to her guests and lamented the end of her party.
- Promising that she could do it again in the summer.
- Eating leftover pizza for lunch.
- Watching the children draw side-by-side at the coffee table.
- Persuading Izzy to take a nap.
- Pottering in the kitchen.
- Sorting laundry and cleaning the bathroom.
- Waking Izzy and asking Mr L.A. to make her a cup of tea.
- Curling up on the sofa to watch Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets.
- Cooking and eating Rachel Khoo’s Smoky Fish Bake.
- Wishing it didn’t make the whole house smell of haddock.
- Drawing the children a bath.
- Heading downstairs to write this while Mr L.A. tucked them into bed.
- Looking forward to another night on the sofa in front of Making a Murderer. Consider us well and truly hooked!
