- Waking up when Jesse crept into our bedroom a little after 6am.
- Snuggling beneath the duvet.
- Slipping downstairs for a mug of tea.
- Lounging on the sofa and watching The Incredibles.
- Making pancakes for breakfast.
- Smothering them in maple syrup.
- Drinking freshly squeezed blood orange juice. Boy, do I love my KitchenAid Citrus Juicer attachment.
- Enjoying a long, hot shower.
- Pulling on clean pyjamas and blow drying my hair.
- Coaxing the children into their clothes.
- Pottering around the house while the others popped to the shops.
- Talking through a few house rules and introducing a new reward system for the kids. Their behaviour has been pretty challenging of late and, well, desperate times call for Pinterest measures.
- Eating fish finger sandwiches.
- Settling down to watch Pete’s Dragon.
- Burning the Zoella candle my mother-in-law gave me for Christmas. I didn’t think I’d love it, but I do.
- Snacking on crisps and mini Oreo Easter eggs.
- Cooking and eating veggie sausage casserole with maple parsnips, broccoli and peas.
- Feeling full.
- Reading Jesse a bedtime story and tucking him in for the night.
- Getting cosy on the sofa with Izzy.
- Finally watching Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life.
- Sipping a very weak G&T. I’m not drinking very much at all these days, but I’m currently head over heels in love with Edinburgh Gin’s Rhubarb and Ginger Liqueur.
- Dimming the lights and getting lost in another episode of The Exorcist. The TV show seems to bear very little resembelence to the film, but we’re definitely hooked.
- Collapsing into bed.
- Longing for a little more sleep when Jesse woke us up early again.
- Dragging myself downstairs.
- Sitting quietly on the sofa in a daze.
- Drinking endless cups of tea.
- Greeting Izzy when she joined us downstairs.
- Making Meera Sodha’s Bombay Eggs for breakfast. Having received both her recipe books for Christmas, we’re on a constant diet of Indian food at the moment. So much delicious inspiration!
- Grabbing a quick shower, getting dressed and heading outside into the mist and mizzle.
- Strolling to Troopers Hill.
- Watching the children enjoy the playground.
- Squelching through mud.
- Looking out across the city cloaked in fog.
- Wandering home.
- Retreating to the sofa for a rest.
- Listening to everyone else play Castle Panic*.
- Summoning enough energy to finish a few chores.
- Sorting laundry, ironing uniform and vacuuming the hallway.
- Chatting to my mum on the phone.
- Making plans for the summer.
- Cooking and eating kidney bean curry. Another recipe from Made in India: Cooked in Britain*, unfortunately it’s not online {but this is very similar}.
- Plunging Jesse into a warm bubble bath.
- Warming his PJs on the radiator.
- Blow drying Izzy’s hair while Mr L.A. read him a bedtime story.
- Giving goodnight kisses.
- Tapping away at my laptop.
- Craving an early night.
- Keeping my fingers crossed for a productive week ahead.

Thanks Brigette! I love writing these posts and it’s so nice to have a record to look back on. I’m aiming to post every week this year. I always managed it without any trouble until I fell ill last year. I hate that there’s a big gap in my memories now. Fingers crossed for 2017! xxx
