- Waking up slowly.
- Sipping tea beneath a blanket on the sofa.
- Eating a toasted bagel for breakfast.
- Throwing doors and windows wide open.
- Enjoying the sight of our Easter decorations in the dining room.
- Wishing I had some fresh flowers for the table.
- Putting up the teepee and laying blankets outside.
- Sitting with the children while they lounged in the sun.
- Pulling on scruffy clothes and cracking on with some DIY.
- Listening to the new Laura Marling album while I added another coat of white paint in the laundry room.
- Heating up leftovers for lunch.
- Watching Carl repair a damaged skirting board.
- Napping in the sunshine.
- Grabbing a quick shower and pulling on clean PJs.
- Drinking a St Germain Gin and Tonic.
- Cooking and eating pasta with broccoli sauce.
- Catching up with my parents via Zoom.
- Toasting the end of mum’s radiotherapy treatment.
- Settling down for a night in front of the TV.
- Watching the end of Color Out of Space. Not my cup of tea at all.
- Collapsing into bed with my Kindle and reading the first few chapters of The Binding* by Bridget Collins which is currently reduced to 99p.
- Waking up earlier than I wanted to.
- Meal planning for the week ahead and ordering a few groceries online.
- Digging out the Easter treats.
- Letting the children eat chocolate for breakfast.
- Chatting to my mum, sister and cousin via Zoom.
- Setting up an egg hunt for the kids.
- Reminiscing about Easter when they were little.
- Preparing a fake chicken pie for Sunday lunch. I loosely follow this Jamie Oliver recipe, using The Chunk by Oumph! and Oatly cream instead of creme fraiche. Most ready-rolled puff pastry is accidentally vegan anyway.
- Helping Izzy make chocolate brownies for dessert.
- Eating too much.
- Missing family.
- Curling up on the sofa to watch Fred Astaire and Judy Garland in Easter Parade.
- Racing through my usual Sunday chores.
- Ticking off a few fiddly bits of DIY in the laundry room while Carl gave the kids supper.
- Sitting outside with a G&T.
- Foraging in the fridge for something to eat.
- Saying goodnight to the children.
- Watching Marriage Story on Netflix and crying from beginning to end. It was superb.
- Retreating upstairs to bed.
- Getting up early to put the bins out.
- Savouring the peace and quiet for a while.
- Pottering in the kitchen while the kids watched old episodes of The Simpsons on Disney+.
- Almost forgetting it was a bank holiday.
- Having a very lazy day with the kids while Carl worked upstairs.
- Snoozing on the sofa.
- Turning on my laptop to write this post.
- Looking forward to a long, hot bath later this evening.
