August might not feel that summery right now, but I’m still in complete denial about the impending arrival of autumn. Pretending it isn’t right around the corner is the only way I can calm the usual feelings of dread that start to surface around this time of year.
My other line of defense is to distract myself with summer-appropriate treats. After all, a bunch of sunflowers is cheaper than therapy. Here are a few other things currently brightening my world…

Paddywax Candles c/o Rooi
I discovered Rooi when they got in touch about sampling something from their vast range of luxury homeware and gifts. Although tempted by their Stationery collection which features the likes of Ban.Do and Kate Spade, in the end I settled on a couple of Paddywax candles.
It’s not a brand I’ve tried before, but from the moment I lit the first wick, I’ve been hooked. Not only do they throw their scent well, they’re reasonably priced and beautifully packaged in an array of stylish containers.
I’ve been burning Fresh Lemon Meyer all summer, especially when I’m cracking on with housework. It’s a real mood-lifter and helps the house feel squeaky clean. Amber and Smoke, on the other hand, smells like a sexy man!

Hobbs Orange Katerina Dress
This delicious sale bargain is sold out in most sizes online, but it’s brought me so much joy, I just had to share. The fit is perfect, I adore the colour and I’ve been wearing it on repeat with my beloved Converse Dainty and a cute denim jacket.
Mr L.A. surprised me with this stunning piece of jewellery a few months ago and I’ve barely taken it off since. I’ve always loved Alex Monroe’s work and this is no exception. The design is intricate, but weighty and seriously pretty up close. I wear it with everything, usually layered below my favourite Gold Circle Necklace from OMCH.
Why this beaut of a body wash is limited edition is beyond me. It smells SO good! Fresh and fruity, it blends juicy pineapple with a hint of coconut. They’ve sold out of individual bottles online, but you can still treat yourself to a gift set, complete with shower puff.
For the last month, I’ve been using this face mask at least once a week. I love the sweet scent and its creamy consistency. It’s deep cleansing, soothing and hydrating… pretty much everything my skin needs! The manuka honey has potent antibacterial properties too, so it’s great if you get the odd blemish or spot.
