Awake at 6.30am. Snuggled up in bed with my little boy. Cups of tea on the sofa and a bowl of porridge for breakfast. A little bit of housework and a long, leisurely shower. Setting off for the bus stop with Jesse and chatting all the way. Listening to his daydreams and laughing at his accidental jokes. Watching him read the paper on the back seat of the bus and letting him ring the bell when we reached our stop. Buying paint and lampshades in Homebase. Browsing the garden centre and longing for summer. Popping to Boots before buying posh sandwich fillings in M&S. Eating lunch at home and nervously preparing the house for visitors. Watching Izzy vacuum her bedroom in exchange for her pocket money. Pondering the difficulties of making new friends. Welcoming our guests. Brewing two cups of strong tea as the children disappeared upstairs. Chatting and laughing our way to common ground and maybe {hopefully} a lasting friendship. Saying our goodbyes. Popping to the corner shop for eggs. Detecting a hint of spring in the golden evening light. Chopping veg and poaching fish. Eating. Working. Blogging. Sleeping. Getting up to do it all again in the morning.
