Looking Back…

I may well have ended 2010 practically bedridden with flu, but a quick flick through a few of my photo albums on Face book immediately reminded me that this year has been pretty amazing.

Way back in January, I donned a rather ridiculous outfit, walked across a stage in front of some of the most special people in my life and graduated from university.
The cap and gown was ridiculous, my ensemble from Reiss was not.
A few months later I was in the audience for my baby sister’s ceremony, full of pride and happiness for her.I hate my hair in this picture, but Nicola looks gorgeous, no?
The children grew and grew and grew. I started the year with a baby and I’ve definitely ended it with a fully-fledged toddler! Jesse is walking and talking and generally bringing smiles into our lives everyday. Isabel is thriving. She’s articulate and bright and seems to be developing a real passion for performing, which is so fun to watch.

In July we embarked on an amazing holiday to Bali and Mr. LA blew me away with the most romantic proposal imaginable. I still get butterflies thinking about that night.

In October I took the giant leap back into education and started a Masters in English. The last three months have been challenging, to say the least, but I’m filled with determination.

Looking Forward…

I don’t really ‘do’ new years resolutions, but I do like to reflect on the things I intend to achieve over the coming year. The big ones for me this year are simple. (1) Make it through this MA alive and (2) Plan our wedding. It hasn’t escaped my attention that now we’re in 2011 I can officially say ‘I’m getting married next year’. Eeeeek!

Although these are fairly huge projects (can anyone say ‘dissertation’?), I am hoping for a little more balance in 2011. I’ve not been doing a very good job of looking after myself recently and that’s something I need to address. Baby steps though… I need to make room for yoga in my life again and rethink my diet while I’m at uni. It seems that as soon as I’m away from the watchful eye of the children I decide I can survive on diet coke and double deckers alone. Wish me luck.

Happy New Year ladies! What are you hoping to achieve this year?
