If you follow me on Instagram, you might already know that towards the end of last year we made some great progress in our master bedroom makeover.
The walls received a fresh lick of paint, the grotty carpet was removed and the floorboards were stripped and sanded. We treated ourselves to a beautiful new bed and I also found my dream vintage chest of drawers on eBay.
There’s still a handful of tasks on our to-do list, but we’re definitely moving in the right direction. I’m finally starting to focus on the finishing touches that will make the space feel really special.
Until recently, Dartington Crystal wasn’t a brand I’d associate with the cleaner, more contemporary look I love. However, a cursory browse of their website proved me wrong and I soon found myself with a rather lengthy wish list! Narrowing things down, I emerged with a few firm favourites, all of which perfectly complement my beloved mid-century aesthetic.
The Gourd Vases, pictured above in Ink Blue {c/o}, look stunning with or without flowers. As you can see, the sculptural shape is incredibly eye-catching and it looks wonderful against the soft blue-grey walls of our bedroom.
Bella Vases offer another contemporary look, this time with a delicate geometric print and muted shades of glass. Gems is a vibrant collection made up of stylish retro shapes that remind me of the 1970s. One of each would create an incredible display of rainbow glass!
I hadn’t really thought about it before I sat down to write this post, but vases actually feature as a decorative accessory in almost every room of our house. They’re not always filled with fresh flowers, but it’s nice to have plenty of options when a bunch of blooms does happen to come my way! I suspect Dartington Crystal is going to be my first port of call next time I feel like adding to my collection.

The vase looks so pretty with the roses and also gives life to the room.
