Shall we bypass the awkward conversation about why I haven’t been blogging? I vote we skip the dull excuses and have a nice friendly catch up instead. Here’s a little of my life lately…
- After weeks of keeping it to myself, I finally went public with the news that I’m leaving Love My Dress. I plan to write about the HUGE changes I’m going through in terms of my career in more detail very soon.
- I went to Yorkshire. It was beautiful {see picture above} and definitely worth the 7 hours I spent on the train to get there. I’d like to go back with the children one day, but only if I can be guaranteed the same beautiful sunshine I experienced this time.
- I bought a new dress. I really didn’t need a new dress. I need new shoes, a cardigan that doesn’t have holes in it and bras that aren’t falling apart, but it’s a red dress and I’m going to wear it all summer and feel beautiful every time I slip it on.
- I am feeling deeply frustrated by our lack of progress on the DIY front. As the yarden is next on our hit list, I’m hoping a run of good weather will allow us to power through and finish the space in time for Jesse’s birthday next month.
- The latest addition to the walls of our home is the beautiful Moon für Neil print by German illustrator Martin Krusche for OMM Design. I lusted over this via Pinterest for a very long time, so its arrival has brought great joy. I can highly recommend Bimbily too, such a wonderful online store.
- Carl is jetting off to Ibiza today to shoot a music video. He’ll be away for just under a week, which means I’m about to attempt my longest run of solo parenting in a very long time. I may or may not survive.
- We really need a holiday. Or at least the prospect of one on the horizon. We have a decent chunk of money set aside in a savings account, but we’re a bit stuck for ideas. Any suggestions for a family friendly adventure under £2K?
So, that’s me. What have you been up to?
Miss your weekend posts x
They’ll be back this weekend, I promise.

Hi, I’m one of those readers who never comments but just thought I’d drop a holiday in Holland on your radar. I am going for 2nd time with the kids to a Eurocamp site in Wassenaur. Amazing for kids and plenty to do and cool places to visit. Have a look 🙂 Love your blog xx
Thanks so much Emma, I visited Amsterdam years ago and would love to go and back. Suspect that without a car we’d have to stick to the city, but I’m definitely going to investigate after your recommendation!

The trains are great! We are hiring a car but it’s so accessible by train too. We are about an hour outside Amsterdam but will take the train in and bring the kids round some of the sights- kid friendly sights!!
