Gourmet Burger Kitchen The Weekend LegoLego Hus & Hem CushionsChristmas CocktailScarlett

  • Waking up with a slight hangover. Friday night involved spiced rum mojitos and multiple episodes of Breaking Bad.
  • Sipping tea and snuggling with the children on the sofa.
  • Longing for another lazy day.
  • Grabbing a quick breakfast and jumping in the shower.
  • Enjoying Izzy’s excitement at the prospect of visiting the cinema with new friend Ella {daughter of the ever-so-lovely Little Wedding Helper}.
  • Slipping on thick tights and a silk dress.
  • Seeing Izzy off at the door, pulling on my coat and heading out with Mr. LA and Jesse.
  • Riding the bus into town.
  • Deliberating over our choice of restaurant for lunch.
  • Finally settling on Gourmet Burger Kitchen. I adore their skinny fries.
  • Lingering over our meal.
  • Eating too much.
  • Browsing the sales a little, but buying nothing.
  • Treating myself to a new lipstick while buying one for a friend. MAC Plumful could be a new favourite.
  • Relishing 20 minutes alone in Waterstones.
  • Slowly making our way home.
  • Loving the winter light and crisp, cold air.
  • Feeling sleepy.
  • Admiring our beautiful new cushions from Hus & Hem.
  • Welcoming Izzy home and listening to her recount the day’s adventures.
  • Tapping away at my laptop while the children devoured omelettes for supper.
  • Reading bedtime stories and giving goodnight kisses.
  • Craving green food in a big way. After the excess of Christmas my body was crying out for something healthy.
  • Preparing two steaming bowls of chicken ramen, heavy on the pak choi. So restorative.
  • Mixing up a pitcher of champagne cocktail.
  • Working our way through 3 more episodes of Breaking Bad before collapsing into bed.
  • Sleeping in.
  • Drinking two cups of tea in quick succession.
  • Skipping breakfast.
  • Frantically tidying the house.
  • Looking forward to catching up with old friends.
  • Cooking a vegetarian shepherd’s pie using a recipe from Leon: Family & Friends.
  • Deciding cake was necessary.
  • Mixing up the ingredients for chocolate and cranberry cake while I chatted with our guests in the kitchen.
  • Listening to the children play together.
  • Complimenting our tiny guest on her halo of stunning strawberry blonde curls. So pretty in the afternoon light.
  • Sitting through one of those perfect meals where everyone eats and talks and then eats some more and you end up feeling so lucky to have such wonderful friends to share food with.
  • Drinking tea and talking some more.
  • Wishing our friends didn’t have to leave.
  • Realising I’ve had my fill of entertaining for a while.
  • Desperately trying to persuade the children to tidy their rooms.
  • Ordering Chinese food and looking forward to another Breaking Bad marathon.
