  • Waking up in a panic because my alarm hadn’t gone off.
  • Realising it hadn’t gone off because it was Saturday.
  • Promptly falling asleep.
  • Opening my eyes as Jesse clambered in beside me.
  • Tiptoeing downstairs so Mr L.A. could sleep in.
  • Making tea and writing a to-do list.
  • Snuggling on the sofa with Jess.
  • Greeting the others when they joined us.
  • Persuading Izzy to make scrambled eggs for breakfast.
  • Sorting laundry and pottering in the kitchen.
  • Jumping in the shower.
  • Pulling on a pair of jeans and my favourite French Connection jumper.
  • Writing a quick shopping list and heading out to catch the bus.
  • Dragging the children round Homebase while we stocked up on DIY supplies.
  • Falling in love with a gorgeous grey and yellow rug. I need it in my living room.
  • Popping into Next and M&S.
  • Treating the children to lunch in Subway.
  • Very much enjoying my 6 inch sub.
  • Making our way home.
  • Tidying the garage. September always makes me want to declutter.
  • Cooking and eating sweet potato and three bean tacos served with homemade guacamole and crumbled feta cheese. I was inspired by Sarah’s recipe and they were delicious.
  • Coaxing the children into their PJs.
  • Saying goodnight to Jesse.
  • Watching The Glenn Miller Story. I love James Stewart.
  • Sending Izzy up to bed.
  • Drinking wed wine in front of a film.
  • Deciding A Theory of Everything wasn’t really as good as everyone says it is. Eddie Redmayne totally deserved the Oscar though. Outstanding performance.
  • Collapsing into bed a little worse for wear.
  • Waking up to find Jesse tucked in beside me.
  • Leaving Mr L.A to lie in.
  • Drinking tea on the sofa.
  • Making the filling for a crumble. Plum with honey and rosemary is a surprisingly tasty combination.
  • Eating fried egg and bacon sandwiches for breakfast.
  • Finishing the laundry.
  • Enjoying the sight of blue skies and bright sunshine.
  • Baking Spiced Autumn Apple Cake. Recipe to follow later this week.
  • Leaving it to cool on the counter.
  • Rushing to get ready.
  • Racing to Troopers Hill for our annual blackberry picking expedition. I think we were a little late this year, we only managed 250g. {Read about last year’s haul here.}
  • Discovering an abundance of rosehips, elderberries and sloes. I do love a good forage!
  • Wandering home for some lunch.
  • Eating leftovers standing in the kitchen.
  • Mixing up some maple frosting for my cake.
  • Tucking into a slice with a mug of tea.
  • Ironing the children’s uniform.
  • Ordering next week’s veg box.
  • Slipping Joy the Baker’s ‘Slight Fear of Commitment Roast Chicken‘ into the oven.
  • Making the topping for my crumble.
  • Eating far too much.
  • Feeling sleepy.
  • Finding just enough energy to put the children to bed.
  • Hurriedly sorting through over a hundred photos. Hard not to take so many on such a beautiful day.
  • Thinking about how much I miss these posts when I don’t have time to write them.
  • Settling down to watch a movie with Mr L.A.
