- Waking up to find it was still dark outside.
- Longing for a little more sleep.
- Snuggling with Jesse beneath the bed covers.
- Creeping downstairs for a cup of tea.
- Letting Izzy sleep in for as long as possible.
- Sending Mr L.A. out for eggs.
- Making breakfast while the children watched cartoons.
- Doing my best to soothe Izzy’s nerves ahead of a ‘non-verbal reasoning assessment’ at the secondary school she has set her heart on.
- Drying her tears when it all got a bit too much.
- Eventually waving her off at the door.
- Hanging out with Jesse at home.
- Catching up on laundry.
- Clearing a corner of the attic and doing my best to declutter.
- Packing up baby toys and feeling a little wistful.
- Preparing egg mayonnaise sandwiches for lunch.
- Watching Jesse play with current favourite, the Robo Slime Factory*. He’s obsessed.
- Welcoming the others home.
- Quizzing Izzy on the ins and outs of the exam.
- Keeping my fingers and toes firmly crossed.
- Sorting through piles of clothes and clearing more clutter in the attic.
- Excitedly cooking my first recipe from Simply Nigella*, the brand new book by Nigella Lawson. Our butternut and halloumi burgers were heavenly.
- Whipping up a huge bowl of homemade coleslaw.
- Eating too much.
- Taking the children up to bed.
- Lighting candles and pouring red wine.
- Lounging on the sofa with Mr L.A.
- Watching Hells Kitchen on Netflix. We’ve decided it’s the best worst program we’ve ever seen.
- Laughing a lot.
- Feeling tipsy.
- Heading to bed around midnight.
- Waking up as Jesse crawled in beside me.
- Eventually heading downstairs.
- Drinking tea and eating porridge.
- Ordering new boots from the comfort of the sofa. Fingers crossed that they fit!
- Stealing five minutes for a shower.
- Pulling on some clothes and a little makeup before heading off to the park.
- Relishing the crisp autumn air.
- Searching for conkers.
- Collecting brightly coloured leaves.
- Watching the children on the swings while Mr L.A. went off in search of coffee.
- Deciding autumn might not be so bad after all.
- Slowly making our way home.
- Pickling pears.
- Successfully filling the house with the scent of Christmas.
- Tucking into toasted tuna melts for lunch.
- Packing Izzy off to her drama class.
- Working through a lengthy list of chores.
- Snapping blog photos and making notes.
- Listening to Jesse play with his cars.
- Cuddling on the sofa in front of a film.
- Roasting butternut squash with sweet onions and rosemary.
- Blasting the veg in the Magimix to make a pasta sauce.
- Delivering dinner to the table just as Izzy and Mr L.A arrived home.
- Enjoying the incredible sunset. Bristol looked glorious tonight.
- Looking forward to an evening on the sofa with a huge mug of hot chocolate.
