- Waking up from an incredibly comfortable night’s sleep. Although our bedroom is far from finished and we’re yet to assemble our bed, we have unwrapped our new mattress, pillows and duvet. Heaven.
- Snuggling with Jesse in the dark.
- Missing Izzy. She spent the entire weekend on an adventure holiday with the Girl Guides and it was the longest we’ve ever gone without speaking.
- Heading downstairs for a cup of tea.
- Nattering to my mum on the phone.
- Eating poached eggs for breakfast.
- Jumping in the shower.
- Pulling on a pretty dress, thick tights and my new boots.
- Leaving Mr L.A. at home and heading off to Troopers Hill.
- Eating Jaffa Cakes as we looked out across the city. It really is the most beautiful view.
- Chasing Jesse through fallen leaves.
- Stomping through the woods.
- Picking up sticks.
- Duelling with pretend swords.
- Trying to keep up with Jesse’s imagination.
- Racing home for a cup of tea and a sandwich.
- Getting stuck into some boring DIY. There are lots of niggly little things that need doing in our bedroom before we can even think about moving the furniture back in.
- Feeling frustrated at my lack of progress.
- Whipping up a wok full of Singapore Noodles.
- Settling down for a family movie night with drinks and snacks in hand.
- Surviving Disney’s Descendants. It was seriously cheesy.
- Tucking Jesse in for the night.
- Very much enjoying The Imitation Game. If you ask me, Cumberbatch should have won the Oscar. His performance, and everything else about the film, was flawless.
- Collapsing into bed.
- Sleeping in.
- Eventually dragging myself downstairs.
- Doing laundry while Mr L.A. made breakfast.
- Slowly getting ready to face the day.
- Wearing berry-red lipstick and feeling like an autumn cliché.
- Watching Jesse colour and draw. He’s going through a very creative phase at the moment. It’s wonderful to see.
- Stewing apples and pears.
- Strolling to the park.
- Popping to the shops.
- Grabbing a late lunch.
- Worrying about Mr L.A.’s bad back.
- Working my way through a lengthy list of chores.
- Wondering what Izzy was up to.
- Roasting a chicken for dinner.
- Throwing crumble topping on the stewed fruit I’d made earlier.
- Coaxing Jesse out of the shower and into his jimjams.
- Eating too much.
- Clearing away the dishes and waiting patiently for Izzy to arrive home.
- Dashing to answer the door.
- Giving her an enormous hug.
- Watching her cuddle her brother at the top of the stairs. He had missed his big sister terribly.
- Listening to her talk about her many adventures.
- Helping her into the shower and eventually tucking her into bed.
- Feeling a little under the weather.
- Trying not to worry about my crazy workload next week.

You know what!? I talked about you this evening. We had one of our lovely afternoons with our local friends; 4 couples, 11 children, 4 joints of meats, lots of sides, 3 puddings and too much booze for a Sunday! Someone brought up social media & what we get from it. I said how you ‘follow’ people that you think in real life you’d be friends with and so find small life improvements & advice; recipes, tv choices, home comforts that you might have naturally found, or maybe not. I wish I had the effort to capture the beauty (& PIA) of my family, as you do.xx
Honestly Leeanne, this has made my day! That’s exactly why I share these posts and everything else on Love Audrey. Also, I love the sound of your gathering. 3 puddings?! Amazing.
Thanks for taking the time to leave such a lovely comment. xxx
