Love Audrey November Weekend Love Audrey Animal Children's Clothing

  • Waking up and wondering if the events of the previous evening were some kind of horrible dream.
  • Drifting off to sleep again.
  • Creeping downstairs to join the others.
  • Whispering about the news while Jesse watched cartoons.
  • Struggling to make sense of it all.
  • Sipping tea and sitting down to breakfast.
  • Missing Izzy. She spent the night at a friend’s house.
  • Sorting laundry.
  • Excitedly ordering a new oven.
  • Unpacking bits and bobs in our bedroom. Last weekend, we finally finished painting the woodwork, built our new bed, moved in a vintage chest of drawers and assembled a more permanent {but still temporary} wardrobe. Progress!
  • Grabbing a quick shower.
  • Sending the boys off to the shops.
  • Reheating leftovers for lunch.
  • Greeting a very tired little girl at the door.
  • Pottering in the kitchen while she dozed on the sofa.
  • Cooking Quorn Bolognese for the freezer.
  • Slowly preparing a decadent root vegetable gratin. Brimming with butternut squash, parsnips and potato, it’s worth buying this month’s edition of Jamie Magazine for this recipe alone.
  • Eating too much.
  • Reading bedtime stories and giving goodnight kisses.
  • Running myself a bath and filling it with bubbles. I’m currently in love with The Daily Soothe.
  • Lighting candles and pouring myself a glass of wine.
  • Feeling incredibly relaxed.
  • Smiling as Jesse snuck in to use the loo.
  • Laughing when he told me I looked like a posh lady and that my bath must be lots of fun.
  • Sending him back to bed.
  • Slipping into my PJs and heading downstairs.
  • Settling down to watch Rush. I have no interest in Formula 1 racing, but I was gripped. Compelling characters and fabulous storytelling.
  • Munching crisps and sipping red wine.
  • Feeling sleepy.
  • Collapsing into bed.
  • Waking up as Jesse clambered in beside me.
  • Stumbling downstairs for a cup of tea.
  • Watching Home Alone 2 from beneath a blanket on the sofa.
  • Prepping veg for the slow cooker.
  • Supervising Izzy while she made scrambled eggs for breakfast.
  • Sorting more laundry.
  • Getting showered and dressed.
  • Coaxing the children into their clothes.
  • Enduring a full-on meltdown from Jesse. When that boy wants a PJ day, he really wants a PJ day.
  • Heading outside for a bit of fresh air.
  • Watching the kids climb trees and frolic in the grass.
  • Waiting for it to rain.
  • Enjoying the feeling of the wind in my hair.
  • Walking home via the sweet shop.
  • Saying goodbye to Mr L.A. He’s working in Morocco until next weekend.
  • Knocking up a huge pot of squash and chickpea stew for dinner tomorrow while the slow cooker cooked dinner for tonight.
  • Listening to the children play Junior Monopoly.
  • Closing the blinds and lighting candles.
  • Popping on a DVD for the kids.
  • Dishing up sweet potato and egg curry. Deliciously creamy and packed full of flavour, I’m looking forward to the leftovers for lunch tomorrow.
  • Clearing up while the kids finished their film.
  • Smiling as each of us discovered a gift from Mr L.A. beneath our pillows.
  • Tucking Jesse into bed.
  • Letting Izzy watch a little TV.
  • Tapping away on my laptop.
  • Wondering what to watch once both kids are in bed.
  • Hoping I can summon enough energy for the week ahead.
