- Waking up as Jesse clambered in beside me.
- Drifting back to sleep while Mr L.A. took him downstairs.
- Eventually dragging myself out of bed.
- Making myself a strong cup of tea.
- Curling up on the sofa.
- Listening to the rain.
- Missing summer already.
- Jumping in the shower.
- Pulling on skinny jeans and my favourite Breton top.
- Making porridge for breakfast.
- Folding laundry.
- Drying my hair
- Getting Jesse dressed and ready for a birthday party.
- Snoozing on the sofa while Izzy watched a movie. I’m still dealing with the fallout from my illness earlier this year and the fatigue hit me hard all weekend.
- Sleeping through lunch.
- Waking up to drink tea and watch Secret Life of Pets.
- Summoning up the energy to bake Dorset Apple Cake.
- Burning my new Jo Malone candle. I bought Basil and Neroli on the strength of Nic’s review and it was definitely love at first sniff.
- Cooking and eating my version of this One-Pot Lemon Garlic Shrimp Pasta.
- Saying goodnight to Jesse.
- Pouring myself a G&T.
- Watching Baby Boom with Izzy. I adore 1980s Diane Keaton and her power suits.
- Taking myself to bed nice and early.
- Sleeping in.
- Venturing downstairs for a cup of tea.
- Eating scrambled eggs on toast for breakfast.
- Getting ready to face the day.
- Dressing the children in accidentally matching outfits.
- Heading out in search of blackberries.
- Stopping to chat to our neighbour two-doors-down.
- Making our way to Troopers Hill.
- Filling our basket with foraged fruit.
- Dodging giant spiders hidden among the brambles.
- Noticing a distinct autumnal nip in the air.
- Admiring a great expanse of purple heather on the hillside.
- Wandering through the woods on our way home.
- Peeling and chopping apples for a crumble.
- Eating pasta and salad for lunch.
- Sipping tea and watching Love Story while labelling Jesse’s school uniform.
- Listening to the children play outside in the yarden.
- Getting everything sorted for school in the morning.
- Making Frying Pan Squash and Cavolo Nero Pie.
- Enjoying apple and blackberry crumble for dessert.
- Eating too much.
- Running Jesse a bubble bath.
- Reading a bedtime story and kissing him goodnight.
- Chatting to Izzy as I tap away at my laptop.
- Wondering what the first full week of our new school routine will feel like.
- Looking forward to a soak in the tub with Nectarine Blossom and Honey Bath Oil and my favourite face mask.

Love the way Jessie is looking at Izzy in the first photograph!
PS I just ordered the Jo Malone candle, my first every purchase from Jo x
Me too, such a sweet photo of them both! I hope you enjoy your new candle. I’ve only been into Jo Malone for the last year or so. It’s an expensive love affair! xxx
