• Waking up in Derby.
  • Feeling rested after a long lie-in.
  • Heading downstairs for a cup of tea.
  • Cuddling the kids and saying ‘good morning’ to my in-laws.
  • Eating toaster waffles topped with a generous drizzle of honey.
  • Lounging on the sofa in my PJs.
  • Dragging myself upstairs for a shower.
  • Realising I’d left most of my clothes at home.
  • Repeating Friday’s outfit.
  • Applying my makeup.
  • Tucking into a huge bowl of stuffed pasta for lunch.
  • Blow-drying my hair.
  • Coaxing the kids into their clothes.
  • Smiling at the sight of Jesse dressed as pre-Venom Spiderman*.
  • Laughing as he leapt about excitedly.
  • Piling into my father-in-law’s car.
  • Driving to Nottingham.
  • Strolling through the town centre.
  • Popping into MAC to spend a gift card from my little sister.
  • Treating myself to Brave lipstick and Feline Kohl Power Eye Pencil.
  • Visiting Jamie’s Italian for a quick bite to eat. I really rate their children’s menu.
  • Making our way to Motorpoint Arena for Marvel Universe Live.
  • Watching the kids fizz with excitement as we slipped through the ticket gates.
  • Doing our best to dodge the overpriced merchandise.
  • Thanking my brother-in-law when he treated Jesse to a Wolverine baseball cap.
  • Settling into our seats.
  • Enjoying the show.
  • Enjoying Jesse’s reaction to the show even more.
  • Pushing through the crowd in search of our taxi home.
  • Worrying when it failed to arrive.
  • Hailing another cab and finally heading home.
  • Tucking two very happy children into bed.
  • Enjoying a Chinese takeaway and a couple of G&Ts.
  • Laughing at silly YouTube clips.
  • Collapsing into bed.
  • Waking up just before our alarm.
  • Jumping in the shower and getting dressed.
  • Grabbing a quick breakfast.
  • Rushing to get everyone ready before our taxi arrived.
  • Driving to the station.
  • Spending an obscene amount of money on magazines. This month’s Simple Things is worth every penny though.
  • Boarding the train back to Bristol.
  • Reading, napping and snacking all the way home.
  • Wishing I had the energy to visit The Sunday Project as we were passing through Temple Meads.
  • Tumbling through the front door and feeling glad to be back.
  • Making tea, meal planning and sorting laundry.
  • Sending Mr L.A. out for groceries.
  • Following my own advice and prepping a few meals for later this week. I made Sweet Potato, Spinach and Chickpea Curry, Carrot and Feta Salad, and a tray bake of courgette, broccoli, haricot beans and lemon zest.
  • Drinking tea and ironing school uniform.
  • Sitting with the children while they ate fried eggs and baked beans on toast for their tea.
  • Gently persuading Izzy to revise for her French vocabulary test tomorrow.
  • Kissing Jesse goodnight.
  • Tapping away at my laptop while Izzy watches cartoons on Netflix.
  • Looking forward to a lazy evening on the sofa in front of a film.
