• Snuggling in bed with both children. A rare occurrence these days as Izzy usually sleeps so late.
  • Slinking downstairs for a cup of tea.
  • Tucking into eggs and avocado on toast.
  • Coaxing the children into their clothes.
  • Saying goodbye to the children. Jesse had a playdate and Izzy spent the morning in town with a friend {so grown-up}.
  • Relishing the peace and quiet at home.
  • Pottering in the kitchen.
  • Working through a few boring chores.
  • Ordering a new washing machine.
  • Eating carrot and hummus wraps for lunch.
  • Slowly making my way through an enormous pile of laundry.
  • Watching Izzy excitedly unwrap her new purchases. Neon pink earrings from Claire’s, a top from Primark and stick-on nails from Poundland. Oh to be almost 12 years old again!
  • Finding the perfect spot for my new Iron Wood and Wool wall hanging.
  • Daydreaming about all the little details I still want to add to our master bedroom.
  • Doing a spot of online Christmas shopping. I’m aiming to be {almost} finished by the end of November.
  • Waiting at home while Mr L.A. and the children went to collect chip shop fish and chips for our supper. In recent years, this has become something of a Bonfire Night tradition for us. I love that such a simple meal feels like a real treat.
  • Playing with giant sparklers outside in the yarden.
  • Watching other people’s fireworks fill the sky.
  • Putting Jesse to bed.
  • Enjoying a long candlelit soak in the tub. Pop In The Bath from Lush was my bubble of choice.
  • Watching Gilmore Girls with Izzy until she went to bed.
  • Allowing myself a small glass of wine while we rewatched The Babadook.
  • Collapsing into bed.
  • Feeling grateful for a much-needed lie-in.
  • Joining the others downstairs.
  • Listening to the children squabble.
  • Sipping tea on the sofa.
  • Watching Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.
  • Demolishing scrambled eggs for breakfast.
  • Resting on the sofa while Mr L.A. vacuumed the house from top to bottom.
  • Letting Izzy earn a little extra pocket-money by cleaning the bathroom.
  • Heating up Higgidy pies for lunch. Their sweet potato and feta pie with pumpkin seeds is delicious.
  • Ironing school uniform.
  • Making Bonfire Chocolate with the children.
  • Settling down beneath a blanket on the sofa.
  • Watching Big. I love 1980s Tom Hanks so much.
  • Eating my first mince pie of the season.
  • Preparing a big pot of Mexican black beans.
  • Using them to fill the fancy Stand ‘n’ Stuff Tortillas from Old El Paso.
  • Covering everything with cheese and letting it melt in the oven.
  • Eating too much.
  • Giving Jesse a bath, listening to him read and tucking him in for the night.
  • Tapping away at my laptop.
  • Looking forward to an early night.
