• Waking up in London. It was Carl’s birthday on Friday and our 5th wedding anniversary on Saturday, so we spent the weekend childfree in the capital.
  • Lounging in bed for as long as possible.
  • Tucking into scrambled eggs and smoked salmon.
  • Slowly getting ready to face the day. We’d been out for dinner and a movie the night before, so I needed to pace myself.
  • Enjoying a long, hot shower.
  • Pulling on my favourite dress navy blue, thick tights and tan leather boots.
  • Applying my makeup and blow drying my hair.
  • Catching the bus to Ealing Broadway.
  • Jumping on the Central Line to Bond Street.
  • Dodging the rain as we made our way to St Christopher’s Place.
  • Grabbing lunch at Benugo. My brie, rocket and onion marmalade sandwich was delicious.
  • Nipping into Selfridges for a browse.
  • Swooning over expensive stationery.
  • Exploring the food hall.
  • Daydreaming about an extravagant lipstick purchase.
  • Following Mr L.A. around the technology department.
  • Reminding him we don’t need a new TV.
  • Jumping back on the tube to North Greenwich.
  • Wandering to the O2.
  • Making our way inside Star Wars Identities.
  • Watching Mr L.A.’s face light up with excitement.
  • Enjoying the concept art, costumes and models.
  • Deciding to visit again with the children.
  • Browsing the gift shop.
  • Heading back to Ealing Broadway.
  • Feeling nostalgic.
  • Eating too many tacos at Limeyard.
  • Buying beer and ice-cream on the way home.
  • Slipping into my PJs, pulling out the sofa bed and settling down to watch Eddie the Eagle on Netflix.
  • Tucking into a huge bowl of Salted Caramel Haagen Dasz. Heaven.
  • Reminiscing about our wedding day.
  • Collapsing into bed.
  • Sleeping in.
  • Dragging myself out of bed.
  • Reluctantly getting ready to leave.
  • Planning a wander in Hyde Park before heading home.
  • Realising it was raining.
  • Diverting to Paddington instead.
  • Grabbing breakfast at Pret.
  • Making a mad dash for the train.
  • Sipping hot chocolate and reading blog posts on my phone.
  • Taking a taxi home from the station.
  • Sipping tea on the sofa.
  • Opening anniversary gifts and cards.
  • Tossing dirty laundry into the washing machine.
  • Greeting Jesse and my mum as they arrived at the door.
  • Catching up over tea and coffee.
  • Listening to Jesse’s tales of homemade pizza and digging in my parents’ garden.
  • Collecting Izzy from her drama class in Clifton.
  • Watching the kids eat veggie burgers and baked beans for their tea.
  • Wrestling Jesse into the bath.
  • Giving goodnight kisses.
  • Tapping away at my laptop while Izzy watched Pretty Little Liars.
  • Looking forward to sharing an Indian takeaway with my mum.
  • Feeling grateful for my husband, our marriage and a wonderful weekend away.

Love Audrey xxx
