  • Greeting our friend Rich at the door.
  • Sitting outside in the sun while Mr L.A. built our new BBQ.
  • Looking forward to using it for the first time. We just need to get hold of the right gas canister.
  • Packing an overnight bag.
  • Waiting for our friends, Emily and Sam, to arrive.
  • Saying goodbye to the men.
  • Driving to Bath with Em.
  • Parking up and taking a stroll in the early evening sunshine.
  • Admiring the abbey.
  • Mentally planning a return trip with the kids.
  • Grabbing a table for dinner at Prezzo.
  • Eating our combined bodyweight in pasta and cheese.
  • Heading back to Emily’s house for a sleepover.
  • Snacking on sweets and staying up far too late.
  • Reminiscing about the ‘old days’ in Exeter.
  • Feeling very lucky to have such wonderful friends.
  • Enjoying my last lie-in for a while.
  • Sipping tea in Emily’s kitchen.
  • Getting ready to face the day.
  • Eating a cinnamon and raisin bagel smothered in butter.
  • Making our way back to Bristol.
  • Catching up with the men and making plans for another gathering very soon.
  • Saying goodbye at the door.
  • Waiting for my in-laws to arrive with the children.

  • Greeting the children when they came rushing in.

  • Listening to tales of all their adventures over the last week.

  • Chatting with my mother-in-law.
  • Clearing up the kitchen.
  • Saying goodbye to Mr L.A.’s parents.
  • Vegging out on the sofa while everyone else played board games.
  • Feeding the children beans on toast for their tea.
  • Running Jesse a bubble bath.
  • Giving goodnight kisses.
  • Cooking and eating Greek Egg and Chips from Jamie’s Comfort Food*.
  • Tapping away at my laptop.
  • Looking forward to a long, luxurious soak in the tub.
