• Sleeping in.
  • Snuggling with Jesse beneath the duvet.
  • Creeping downstairs.
  • Trying not to wake the au pair. My cousin’s lovely girlfriend, Beth, has been staying with us since we got back from Amsterdam and helping out while Mr L.A. is away in Kenya.
  • Sipping tea on the sofa.
  • Making waffles for breakfast.
  • Eating them with sliced banana and maple syrup.
  • Coaxing the kids into their clothes.
  • Jumping in the shower.
  • Pulling on jeans and a striped top.
  • Squeezing in a little work while Beth took the children to the park.
  • Making veggie sausage sandwiches for lunch.
  • Researching zero waste. I watched A Plastic Ocean on Netflix last week and I haven’t been able to stop thinking about it since. I’m determined to do more to reduce the amount of rubbish we send to landfill.
  • Putting laundry away.
  • Teaching myself to fold a fitted sheet.
  • Resting on the sofa.
  • Watching the kids play Star Wars Labyrinth.
  • Listening to Jesse chat about Pokemon.
  • Giving him a hug when he told me how much he was missing his dad.
  • Meal planning for the week ahead.
  • Ordering groceries online.
  • Making a start on dinner while Beth did a little vacuuming.
  • Roasting butternut squash with fresh thyme from the yarden.
  • Whizzing it into a pasta sauce.
  • Sitting down to dinner.
  • Wishing the kids would stop bickering.
  • Putting Jesse to bed.
  • Pulling on my PJs and getting cosy on the sofa.
  • Sipping a G&T.
  • Watching My Girl on Netflix.
  • Crying. A lot. Such a tear-jerker.
  • Heading to bed with a good book. I’m currently reading The Making of a Marchioness.
  • Waking up a little after 8am.
  • Missing Mr L.A.
  • Making tea.
  • Wishing Beth didn’t have to leave.
  • Waving her off at the door.
  • Cheering the children up with chocolate toast for breakfast.
  • Speed cleaning the bathroom.
  • Scrubbing the inside of the oven.
  • Watering the houseplants.
  • Placing an order with Who Gives a Crap. Toilet paper is one of the few things we buy wrapped in plastic {that can’t be recycled}, but not anymore!
  • Making cheese and pickle sandwiches for lunch.
  • Packing Izzy off to her drama class in Clifton.
  • Hanging out with Jesse at home.
  • Looking through my photos from Amsterdam. Watch this space!
  • Sunning myself outside in the yarden.
  • Unpacking groceries and pottering in the kitchen.
  • Preparing Fresh Matar Paneer for dinner.
  • Dishing up just as Izzy arrived at the front door.
  • Loading the dishwasher while the kids showered and got ready for bed.
  • Reading Jesse a bedtime story.
  • Using the final dregs of my Oskia Renaissance Mask. I’ll definitely be repurchasing.
  • Tapping away at my laptop.
  • Looking forward to an early night.
  • Hoping the next few days will pass quickly so Mr L.A. will be back home with us, ready to celebrate Jesse’s 8th birthday.
