• Waking up after a very long sleep. I think I went to bed at 8.30pm on Friday. I’m feeling even more tired than usual at the moment.
  • Heading downstairs for a cup of tea.
  • Savouring the peace and quiet while everyone else was still in bed.
  • Curling up beneath a blanket on the sofa with Jesse.
  • Watching Cars until it was time for breakfast.
  • Frying eggs for the children.
  • Eating a toasted bagel topped with marmite.
  • Finishing the yarden’s mini-makeover. We managed to stain the decking during the week, so all I needed to do was find our outdoor cushions in the attic and put the furniture back where it should be. I can’t wait to spend more time outside in the coming weeks.
  • Distracting myself with DIY. I finished priming all the woodwork in the laundry room, so it’s almost ready for its first coat of paint.
  • Listening to the children play board games with Carl.
  • Eating leftover pizza for lunch.
  • Taking a long, hot shower. The kind where you use all your favourite lotions and potions to buff and polish yourself from head to toe.
  • Applying copious amounts of my current favourite body cream.
  • Pulling on clean PJs.
  • Blow drying my hair.
  • Watching cartoons with the kids.
  • Sipping gin and listening to 90s R&B in the kitchen.
  • Cooking and eating butternut squash risotto {I tend to wing it, but this recipe looks similar to my version}.
  • Needing another early night.
  • Waking up when I heard Jesse making his way downstairs.
  • Tidying the kitchen and making tea while he played on the Xbox.
  • Chatting to my mum in Dorset and my sister in Australia via Zoom.
  • Eating smashed avocado on toast for breakfast.
  • Attempting to record a podcast episode with Charlie. Unfortunately, technology wasn’t on our side, but we’ll keep trying.
  • Wishing we could meet in person.
  • Having a natter over the phone instead.
  • Fixing lunch for the children.
  • Settling down on the sofa to watch Disney’s live action version of Lady and the Tramp. We loved it.
  • Doing two loads of laundry. I guess some things remain constant during a global pandemic.
  • Avoiding the news and trying not to worry.
  • Tapping away at my laptop.
  • Feeling peckish.
  • Wondering what to make for dinner.
  • Looking forward to a bubble bath and a face mask later this evening.
