As a child of the 80s, my husband belongs to a generation of men who think it is perfectly acceptable to respond to their partner’s declarations of love with two words; ‘I know’.

The first attempt to pass of Han’s arrogance as their own is witty, the second, endearing. After almost ten years of the same hilarious retort, I think I could be forgiven for growing a little tired of the joke, but in many ways it’s become a catchphrase. It is both comforting and affectionate, without ever feeling soppy. We all need a few ‘in jokes’ to get us through the tough times, and this is ours.
